FROM STAFF REPORTS

November 14, 2012

In Class A, Region 1 runner-up Magnolia defeated Region 3 champions The Lady Tide from Sherman.

While there are no oceans in the vicinity of the Charleston Civic Center, the Tide came in Friday.

Sherman students and fans filled section 141 and most of 143 to watch the Tide’s Class A quarterfinal match against Magnolia.

The Tide fans were easily the loudest of the tournament’s first day.

The Magnolia Blue Eagles defeated Sherman 25-23, 25-14, 25-17.

The Lady Tide volleyball team made it to the states for only the second time in school history.

The Lady Tide has worked hard with Coach Terri Dawn Williams throughout this volleyball season. The girls thanked all of the student and community support they received throughout the year. They have had a lot of support from fans this year, even traveling with the team to the away trips.
