The Whitesville Police Department will be having a Sobriety Checkpoint on Saturday the 25th of May, 2013 between the hours of 5 p.m. and 9 p.m. At the following location(s): Route 3 at Whitesville in Boone County.

Housing Authority to meet
The quarterly meeting of the Boone County Housing Authority and Redevelopment Authority will be held on Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at 6 p.m., at Black Diamond Arbors in Danville.
White family reunion
The family of the late Robert and Elise White of Gordon will be having the White family reunion on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at the Van Park.
Please bring a covered dish and come out spend the day with family and friends. Everyone is welcome to attend this reunion.

Wharton-Barrett VFD hosting EVT test
An Emergency Vehicle Technician (EVT) test date has been set-up for The Wharton-Barrett Volunteer Fire Department. The test will be held on Saturday June 8 at 10 a.m. Any desired EVT Certification Test can be administered at the department on that date. Car wash and hotdog sale
There will be a car wash and hotdog sale from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 2013, at the Spruce River Volunteer Fire Department hosted by the Ramage Skyhawks.
There will be car and truck washes, hotdogs, baked goods, drinks and bag meals available.
Western Regional CASA reaches Kanawha, Lincoln, Boone, Putnam, Cabell, and Wayne Counties. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) is a non-profit organization that desires for every child in abuse/neglect proceedings to receive a permanent residence. Volunteers gather information and advocate on the behalf of the children within a case.
Right now, Boone County is looking for volunteers, so come help reach that many more children in our communities.

Experience West Virginia Opens Workshop Registration
Walking tours of historic towns, nature hikes, arts and crafts workshops, Appalachian history performances, and simulated air travel are just a few of the myriad of offerings being presented this summer by Experience West Virginia.
