Police report shooting last night in Boone County

WILLIAMS MOUNTAIN – Deputies were on the scene of a shooting Thursday night in the William’s Mountain area of Boone County, according to Boone County Chief Deputy Chad Barker.

“One victim has been shot numerous times with a rifle and a separate victim has possibly been hit by a vehicle,” Barker said.

The incident happened on Prenter Road around 9:30 p.m.

According to dispatchers one person was shot two times in the back and once in the arm or shoulder area.

No names were released last night, as the investigation continued, however, it was reported that both patients were taken to a hospital in Charleston. No word on their conditions.

“More information will be released in the morning (today),” Barker said.

West Virginia State Police also responded to the scene.
