Sermon series at Madison Baptist Church addresses life struggles
Pastor Jim Butcher will be beginning the sermon series “Where Is God When Your World Is Falling Apart?” at Madison Baptist Church. The service begins at 11 a.m. This series will address some of the biggest questions people have when they’re going through pain and struggles.
The planned sermons left for this sermon series are:
-10/6—“What’s Lost If I Give Up On God In The Midst Of My Struggle?”

Racine United Methodist Hot Dog and Yard Sale
The Racine United Methodist Church on Short Creek Road will have a Hot Dog and Yard Sale on Saturday October 5th.
Barbecues and Baked Goods will also be available.
The Yard Sale will be from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. and will feature Women’s and Men’s new and like new winter clothing and shoes as well as numerous like new household items.

Jarrells Valley Church will be having Home Coming on October 13th at 2 p.m. We have our service in the church and we also will honor our Assistant Pastor Debbie and Herby Price this day. After our service we have dinner and fellowship in the kitchen. Please feel free to come and fellowship with us. Pastors are Ronnie and Dana Gibson.
Hot dog and bake sale
The United Methodist Women of Mahone Chapel United Methodist Church at Ashford will hold a hot dog/bake sale on Saturday, October 5, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in its Activities Building. Hot dogs will cost $1.25 each.
To place orders in advance for pick-up later, please call (304) 836-5852 on the day of the sale.
Proceeds from the fundraiser will benefit the church’s Christmas charities: food baskets and children’s coats.
Seeking families to make a difference
Burlington United Methodist Family Services is currently seeking foster homes in the Raleigh/Boone County area. Foster Parents will receive training and support. Please contact Steven or Lisa at 304-252-1598.
Prayer Connection Lighthouse
Prayer Connection Lighthouse in Danville is accepting donations of clothing, canned goods, furniture and garden foods.
Monetary donations can also be mailed to P.O. Box 159, Danville, WV 25053.
They also need volunteers from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.
The Heart of God Soup Kitchen
The church’s “Heart of God Soup Kitchen” serves free hot meals Monday through Friday between 1:30 and 5 p.m. Due to health department regulations, no food can be carried out.
The Heart of God Soup Kitchen is in desperate need of donations and grocery items. They are needing dry goods, canned foods, meats, garden foods, and other grocery items to help feed those in need. Monetary donations can also be mailed to P.O. Box 159, Danville, WV 25053.
The church or the kitchen does not give out cash or any other monetary assistance.
We would like to thank the community for all of its support and love. The soup kitchen feeds 1,448 hot meals.

The McCorkle Freewill Baptist Church Crisis Committee invites everyone to participate in our “Community Nursing Program.” The program takes place he third Tuesday of each month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at McCorkle FWB Church multipurpose room.
An RN will be available to the congregation of the church, community and surrounding communities to take your blood pressure, check your blood sugar, explain “the VIAL OF LIFE” (essential information to keep on hand), and explain Medical Power of Attorneys or Living Wills.
