Racine Volunteer Fire Department

Will have its photo fund drive at the Racine Fire Station Sunday, February 26 and Sunday, March 5 from noon until 5 p.m. Funds are being raised for updating rescue and firefighting equipment as well as operational expenses. No appointments are needed. Walk-ins are welcome. Thank you for your support!

Boone County Board of Education Meeting

Will have a regular session board meeting at 6 p.m. Monday, March 6 at the Operations Complex in Foster, W.Va. All meetings are open to the public.

Madison City Council Meeting

Will be Monday, March 6 at 7 p.m. at Madison City Hall in council chambers.

Boone County Commission Meeting

The meeting will be held Tuesday, March 7 at 10 a.m. at 206 Court Street, Suite 300, Madison, W.Va. The meeting is open to the public. To be placed on the agenda, please call 304-369-7303.

BINGO!

The Seth Mountaineers will be having BINGO at Sherman High School cafeteria on Tuesday, March 7 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Pre-sale tickets are $20 for 15 games. Tickets purchased at the door will $25 for 15 games. All proceeds will go to the Seth Mountaineer football players, cheerleaders and majorettes. Head Start/Pre-K Open House

The Appalachian Council Head Start program will be hosting an open house on Friday, March 10 at the Danville and Racine sites from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. – 3 p.m. This gives interested parents the opportunity to meet with staff, get a sneak peak of classrooms, examine our buses and ask questions of staff. To be eligible for entry into Head Start/Pre-K Program children must be three or four years old before September 1. Madison Rotary Club hosts fundraiser

The fundraiser will be a “Painting Party”, with instructor Mrs. Judy Foxx. This event will be held in the Scott High School cafeteria on Friday, March 10 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. Refreshments will be available. The cost to paint is $25/person and we need you to sign up two weeks prior to the event so the appropriate supplies can be bought. This fundraiser will benefit the Rotary Scholarship Fund and other Rotary endeavors. Whitesville Town Council Meeting

Will be held Tuesday, March 14 at 6 p.m. at Whitesville Town Hall. The town hall is located in the old Valley Funeral home building. Meetings are open to the public.

Boone County Ambulance Authority Board of Directors Meeting

Will be held Thursday, March 16 at 6 p.m. at Racine Ambulance Authority.

Bake Sale

The Seth Mountaineers will be having a Bake Sale at the South Ridge Walmart on Sunday, March 19 from noon – 5 p.m. All proceeds will go to the Seth Mountaineer football players, cheerleaders and majorettes

Boone Memorial Hospital Auxiliary

Required Immunizations are Needed for School

It’s time for our adolescent immunization campaign for Boone County Schools. This means if you have a child in the sixth or eleventh grade you need to update your child’s shot records for school. These shots are required before they enter the seventh and twelfth grade. Check with your child’s physician to make sure they are up to date with their shots and make an appointment if needed. Required adolescent shots for school are the following: Tdap – tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis and MCV – Meningitis. All updated shot records should be at your child’s school by May 1. The City of Madison is playing BINGO the FIRST Saturday (unless otherwise stated) of the month for CASH prizes. Doors open at 5 p.m. and games start at 6 p.m. The cost is $25 for 20 games. All proceeds go to the City of Madison.

The Madison Civic Center will be open for indoor walkers, Monday thru Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please stop by Madison City Hall to sign in before walking.
