Boone WVU Alumni & Friends Pig Roast and Golf Outing

The 28th annual Boone County WVU Alumni & Friends Pig Roast and Golf Outing is scheduled for July 18 at Riverveiw Country Club.

Come for an afternoon of fun. Enjoy good food, good company, fantastic golf, great music from Bent River, and general merriment all in the pleasant surroundings of

Riverview Country Club (have you seen the new upgrades there?). We will have all this fun; and at the same time it is for great cause too. It is all geared toward providing scholarships to at least 37 Boone County students attending WVU or its associated schools.

It is the 28th edition of the Boone County WVU Alumni & Friends Pig Roast & Golf Outing being held on July 18, 2015.

Golf begins at 10 a.m. and the pig should be well prepared by 3 p.m. in time to feed famished golfers and provide for a fantastic picnic.

Join Boone County native, Tony Gibson, who is WVU’s Football Defensive Coordinator as he brings his own special secrets to roasting pig and fixing those amazing hot bologna sandwiches. He will be joined by the President of WVU, Dr. E. Gordon Gee, and many other fantastic educators perhaps including Coach Huggins, if Huggs can bend his recruiting schedule. Get your own 2015 version Pig Roast t-shirt that touts Coach Gibson’s own innovative defense.

Coach Paul Carden will bring his famous wit and auctioneering skills to bear to auction off many collectables and useful items. This is one time that a war is a good thing (bidding war), and fun to boot.

Most of all this it is for our own kids and their future. Many will come back to Boone County and build on the great community and history that their forebears turn over to them. Come and lend your support and have fun doing it.
