Whitesville Fall Festival
The 1st Annual Town of Whitesville Fall Festival will be held on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There will be food, crafts, distributors, and exhibitors throughout the park, Salamy Building, and the town itself. There will also be children’s activities at the library, and throughout town.

A chili cook off will be held at Whitesville State Bank. If interested in entering, please contact Vickie Dingess at 304-854-1271.
A raffle fire pit and a 50/50 raffle will be held with a drawing at 2:45 p.m. Music will be provided throughout the day and a parade will be held at noon with lineup at 11 a.m. at the old Save-a-Lot building. Come and enjoy the fun!
Boone County Commission meeting
The Boone County Commission will meet in regular session on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015, starting at 5 p.m.

New Business: Tony Hensley and others Discuss Solid Waste Options; Pam White, Assistant Administrator, 2015-2016 E911 Budget and 2015-2016 Community Development Budget; Jim Gore, Administrator o Komax lease agreement for Sheriff Tax Office; Update Boards & Authorities; and Approve bills and purchase orders.

The Town of Danville will host its Halloween party on Oct. 29, 2015, from 7:30 to 9 p.m. at the Danville Community Center.

Nightmare on Main Street
The “Nightmare on Main Street” in Whitesville haunted house is located beside the former Richard Brown Insurance Agency in Whitesville.
Three floors of fright await you.
It will be open Oct. 23-24; and Oct. 30-31 at 7 p.m. each night.
Trunk or Treat
Join in Halloween fun at the City of Madison’s Trunk or Treat celebration, Thursday, Oct. 22, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the Boone County Commission parking lot on lower Madison’s Main Street (If it is raining, the event will be at the Madison Civic Center).
A fun time for children to parade in their Halloween costumes in a safe environment, receive treats, fun and games and fire truck rides.
Trick or Treat for the City of Madison is Thursday, Oct. 29, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Boone County Trick or Treat
Boone County has scheduled “Trick or Treat” in the unincorporated areas of the county for Thursday, Oct. 29, from 5 to 7 p.m.
Harlem Superstars at Scott
Please come out and join the Harlem Superstars on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 6:30 p.m., as they perform at Scott High School.
The show consists of a lot of fan-to-player interaction, which sets Harlem Superstars apart from many other major sports teams in America. Autograph session, dancing and high-fives are just some of the fan interaction you may see at the game.
There will be a halftime show where kids are brought out from the stands to participate in a contest for a chance to win a prize. Come out for a great evening of family entertainment.
Public service annoucement
The Food Handlers Classes will be held at the Public Health Building, located near Danville, just off the Lick Creek Road.
Dates and times are as follows: Monday, Nov. 9, 2015 from 2 to 6 p.m.
Please note that under State Law any person(s) that is involved in the preparation or service of food for public is required to attend a certified food service training course. The card will be a state wide card and a fee of $10 is required. The course will be conducted by Sandra Giles, Boone County Sanitarian.
The Madison Civic Center will be open for indoor walkers, Monday thru Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Secret Santa applications are currently being accepted at the Boone County Community Organization office located at 347 Kenmore Drive, Lick Creek Road (behind the Health Departnent).
If you receive any amount of SNAP benefits you automatically qualify for Secret Santa for children 12 and under. Bring your SNAP card and SS# numbers for everyone in the household. If you do not receive SNAP benefits bring proof of monthly household income and a formulary will be used to see if you qualify.
The deadline to apply is Friday, Nov. 6, 2015. No applications will be accepted after this date.
Christmas Arts and Crafts Fair
REV UP Madison’s annual Christmas Arts and Craft Fair is Saturday, Nov. 28 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., start your Christmas shopping with beautiful arts and crafts from local vendors.
Vendor spaces are 10 x 10 and $20 each, to register call Tammy Hill, Madison City Hall, 304-369-2762.
After shopping at the arts and craft fair go to businesses on Main and State Streets in Madison and participate in “Shop Small Day.”
