Easter is four days from today. How many of you will be hiding Easter eggs over and over and over again?
How many of you have hid Easter eggs over the years and they were not all found by the egg seeker?
I am not talking about the plastic eggs; I am talking about the real ones. I am talking about the eggs that make your house smell for days and weeks after Easter even once you have tracked down the rotten egg.
And why is it the one hiding the eggs blames the one seeking the eggs?
You should not have hid the Easter eggs so well or at least you should have remembered where you hid them. Just saying!
I remember the days when all the Easter eggs were not found and my mom would run around the house in a tizzy for hours trying to find the missing egg(s).
She would look in every room of the house retracing her steps hoping she would come across the egg my sister and I did not find.
She would question, “Did you find the egg under the dresser?” “Did you find the egg in the window seal?” “Did you find the egg behind the couch?” And so on.
Yes, to all of those. But the amount of Easter eggs she hid still did not add up to amount we had found.
The “lucky” egg was usually found a few days later.
These rotten wonderful Easter eggs are just another memory of when your child was little.
It is a memory to cherish even if all of the clothes in your closet had to be washed because you hid a real egg in there and didn’t find it until a week later.
Happy Easter and try not to forget where you hide the eggs!
