A new business has opened in Danville.

Matthew Rowsey is now a State Farm agent located at 1607 Smoot Avenue.

The business opened in recent weeks, and Rowsey, who is also a current member of the W.Va. National Guard, explained he hopes to bring some of the efficiency and structure he has learned in the military to his career in insurance.

Rowsey has served in the W.Va. National Guard since 2009, and currently services in Point Pleasant, W.Va.

“We are ready to take on the challenges that Boone County, Danville and Madison have,” added Rowsey.

Aside from home and auto insurance, Rowsey is also set to offer life and health insurance as well as banking services. In all, over 100 different products are offered by Rowsey.

Rowsey explained, “We specialize in optimizing retirement. Retirement planning is one of our biggest services. We also handle 401k rollovers.”

The State Farm Insurance Agency will be open until 5:30 p.m. on Monday through Friday and until 1 p.m. Saturdays.
