The City of Madison and Rev Up Madison are set to host a Down Home Christmas Celebration Saturday Dec. 12.
The event promises to pack plenty of Christmas cheer into the morning as it will feature breakfast, sleigh rides, face painting and story and craft time at the Madison Library.
From 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., children will have a chance to eat breakfast with Santa at the Hacienda restaurant. Children under 10 years old will eat for free and other will cost $2.
Starting at 10 a.m. local singers will begin providing entertainment in front of Forester Photography.
At 11 a.m., Daphney’s Floral will be open for pictures with Santa with help by Elsa and Anna.
Rene’s School of Dance will be performing “Funky Christmas” at 1 p.m. at the Arts and Heritage Building.
Madison’s own Seth Bunting will be performing a concert at the Arts and Heritage Center starting at 1:30 p.m.
Bunting is also set to serve as the Grand Marshall of the Christmas Parade Friday Dec. 11 at 6 p.m.
Sumpthin Olde Sumpthin New will house a train display, Mitchell Jewelers is set to host a meet the Girl Scouts and, during story time at the Madison Library, children will receive a free book from the Read About Program.
Kim Bannister, with the City of Madison, explained, “The Christmas season brings people together, and, in that spirit, we are excited to invite everyone to come to our city and celebrate Christmas.”
