MADISON – The Boone County Commission meeting on Tuesday, April 5 was short and to the point.

The agenda was not that long and the three commissioners breezed through the session. All three commissioners, Eddie Hendricks, Mickey Brown and Athol Halstead were present for the regular morning meeting.

The commissioners appointed Angela Altizer to a 5-year position on the board for the Boone County Housing and Redevelopment Authority.

Then the BCC signed a proclamation for Fair Housing Month in April. This is the 48th anniversary of the National Fair Housing law.

Some important dates were announced for the upcoming May 10 Primary Election. The last day to register to vote will be April 19. On April 26 the county will pre-test the voting machines.

Early voting starts on April 27.

There were no public comments made during the meeting. There were no updates from any of the boards or authorities.

The commissioners also approved the minutes of the last meeting, payment of bills and purchase orders.
