Marching band has a weekend to remember

Friday, November 4 at Scott Field, as preparations were in progress for senior night, the band received a visit from Wendell Hill, Dominion Resources Area Operations Supervisor for Southern West Virginia. Hill was there to present a check to the band boosters from The Dominion Foundation for $5,000.00 in support of the band and musical arts in Boone County.


MADISON, W.Va – The Scott High School Skyhawk Band just finished out their marching season with a great deal of fanfare.

Friday, November 4 at Scott Field, as preparations were in progress for senior night, the band received a visit from Wendell Hill, Dominion Resources Area Operations Supervisor for Southern West Virginia.

Hill was there to present a check to the band boosters from The Dominion Foundation for $5,000.00 in support of the band and musical arts in Boone County.

On Saturday, November 5 the Skyhawk Band participated in the Cavalcade of Bands State Championship Competition in Parkersburg, W.Va, where they received second place in their division!

Returning home to Madison Saturday night, the band was proudly escorted back into town by the Boone County Sheriff’s Department and the Madison Police & Fire Department, sirens blazing.

The student musicians, staff and booster members would like to thank the Boone County Sheriff’s Department, Madison Police & Fire Department and especially Dominion Resources for their support.

The boosters would also like to extend an invitation to past band members and parents to join the band boosters organization. Help us “Keep the Music Alive in Boone County, WV”!
