West Virginia State Senator, Dr. Ron Stollings (D-Boone), a life-long resident of Boone County, continued his commitment to the region by making a $25,000 gift to the new Boone Memorial Hospital in Madison.
A native of Madison, Dr. Stollings earned both bachelor’s and master’s degrees from West Virginia University. He is a graduate of the Marshall University School of Medicine, and completed a residency in internal medicine at Bowman Gray School of Medicine at Wake Forest University.
The Ladies Auxiliary at Boone Memorial Hospital provided Dr. Stollings with a scholarship to continue his medical education. He received this support with the stipulation he will return to Madison to practice medicine for three years. As of July 1 of this year he has completed his 30th year at Boone Memorial Hospital.
His love for his patients and his commitment to the community has kept him around ever since.
“I will always be grateful to the Boone Memorial Ladies Auxiliary for the opportunity they provided me,” Stollings said. “The New Boone Memorial Hospital will be a great addition to health care in our region. I hope others will join me in supporting the project.”
