Switzer Church of God


The Switzer Church of God will have its Annual Car Show on Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013.


Registration will be from 9 a.m. to noon. The Car Show will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.


There will be live music, concession, door prizes and specialty trophies.

West Madison Gospel Center Tabernacle


The West Madison Gospel Center Tabernacle will have a revival Sept. 2-6, 2013, beginning at 7 p.m. each evening. David Cook will be preaching.


Singers scheduled to sing are: 9-2-13, Dunbar Nazerene; 9-3-13, The Redeemed; 9-4-13 The Meekers; 9-5-13, The Grimmetts; and 9-6-13, Good News.

Prayer Connection Lighthouse


Prayer Connection Lighthouse in Danville is accepting donations of clothing, canned goods, furniture and garden foods.


Monetary donations can also be mailed to P.O. Box 159, Danville, WV 25053.


They also need volunteers from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.


Freedie Freewill Baptist Church


Freedie Freewill Baptist Church will be having a revival through August 24th at 7 p.m. Evangelist David Cook will be preaching. Special singing will be: Wed- In His Name; Thurs- Skeens Family; Fri- Jacob’s Ladder; and Sat- Joe Moore.


Pastor Steve Burns welcomes everyone.


Sunday August 25th at 6 p.m. Freedie Freewill Baptist Church will have a song and praise service featuring Divine Hope. Refreshments will be served.


The Heart of God Soup Kitchen


The church’s “Heart of God Soup Kitchen” serves free hot meals Monday through Friday between 1:30 and 5 p.m. Due to health department regulations, no food can be carried out.


The Heart of God Soup Kitchen is in desperate need of donations and grocery items. They are needing dry goods, canned foods, meats, garden foods, and other grocery items to help feed those in need. Call Linda Meeker 304-369-4803. Monetary donations can also be mailed to P.O. Box 159, Danville, WV 25053.


The church or the kitchen does not give out cash or any other monetary assistance.


12 Steps to Living Free


“12 Steps to Living Free” addictions classes are scheduled at the Fountain of Life Worship Center on Thursdays at 7 p.m. For more information, contact Trena Dingess at 304-784-0841.


Greenview Church of Christ

McCorkle Freewill Baptist Church


The McCorkle Freewill Baptist Church Crisis Committee invites everyone to participate in our “Community Nursing Program.” The program takes place he third Tuesday of each month from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at McCorkle FWB Church multipurpose room.


An RN will be available to the congregation of the church, community and surrounding communities to take your blood pressure, check your blood sugar, explain “the VIAL OF LIFE” (essential information to keep on hand), and explain Medical Power of Attorneys or Living Wills.
