WHITESVILLE, W.Va.- The 3rd Annual UBB 29 Memorial Race, hosted by Princeton Raceway and sponsored by Little General, is set for this Saturday night, August 10th in Princeton, WV.
Gates open at 4pm, admission price is $20.00 for grandstand tickets and pit passes are $35. Children 5 and under are free, kids 6 - 10 are $7. Racing gets started at 6 pm, the fastest qualifier gets $229.99 and is sponsored by Aftermarket Specialities. The winner of the Fast 6 Dash For The Cash gets $290.00 sponsored by Bluestone Machine. The Crate Class winner takes home $2,900.
This is the third year that the Raceway has memorialized the twenty-nine miners killed in an explosion at the Upper Big Branch Coal Mine in Montcoal, WV on April 5th, 2010. Once again, organizers will donate a portion of the proceeds from Saturday’s race to the Upper Big Branch Mining Memorial Group to help pay for future maintenance and upkeep of the Upper Big Branch Miners Memorial in Whitesville. Since the race began three years ago, organizers have donated a total of $7,000 to the memorial. Team owners and drivers have also contributed to the memorial in the years past.
