WV Coal Queens aren’t just pretty faces

The WV Coal Queens aren’t just a pretty face. When the rides are gone and the vendors have packed up these girls still have a full year of work to do.

The WV Coal Queens have traveled all over the state and country representing the WV Coal Festival and the mining industry.

Latasha Mitchell our 2013 Ms. WV Coal Festival placed top 4 out of 88 girls at the WVAFF state pageant in January.

All of the girls traveled to D.C. in October to protest the war on coal.

Combined the girls have traveled thousands of miles and to 5 states representing.

The WV Coal Queens sponsored the Davis Children’s shelter in Charleston for Christmas and was able to supply each child with at least 3 gifts.

The WV Coal Queens visited several local mines on coal miner appreciation day and handed out backed goods.

The WV Coal Queens work closely with the Citizens for coal all year long on many events that help laid off coal miners.
