Jennifer "Jen" James was born and raised in Indiana. I have been in Newspaper Media for over 25 years. I am married to Gary who is self-employed as a licensed Mediator in the state of WV. I have 2 children. son, Jason Daniel and his wife Sarita, who live in North Dakota and daughter, Kayla Marie and husband Robert (Trauteris) who live in Plymouth, Indiana. We have not been blessed with grandchildren yet.

Byers joined Heartland Publications in November 2005 leaving a position with Gannett. He has more than 20 years of newspaper experience working at both weekly and daily newspapers. He is passionate about local journalism and the important role that a community newspaper plays. He is married to Barbara and they have three sons, Cade, Jaekob and Jackston. Fred Pace is the regional editor at five of its southern West Virginia newspapers. Pace, former editor of the Coal Valley News in Madison, is now regional editor for Coal Valley News, The Logan Banner, The Williamson Daily News, The Gilbert Times and the Independent-Herald in Pineville. Pace brings with him more than 30 years of experience in the newspaper industry with both large and small daily and weekly newspapers in southern West Virginia. He has won several West Virginia Press Association editorial awards in the areas of writing, editing and photography.
Ashlea Hall has been employed at The Coal Valley News since January 2013. Along with classified and legal ads, she also answers the phones and greets customers at the front desk. She graduated from Van High School in 2006. She has been a resident of Madison, WV for the last 8 years.
Anthony Sheppard Anthony is lifelong Southern West Virginia resident. He is a advertising professional who has been trained in helping local businesses grow their market share.
