Lady Tide downs Van in opener, 57-33

SETH, W.Va – The Lady Tide of Sherman kicked off their season with two wins including a convincing 57-33 victory over the Lady Bulldogs of Van Friday night at Seth.

Senior guard Kendra Pannell scored 24 points and snagged 13 rebounds while adding five steals for the season’s first double-double.

“She is a special player,” said head coach Terri Dawn Williams. “We expect her to have a big year and lead the team.”

Sherman opened their season with a win over Teays Valley Christian.

For Van (0-1), it was the first game for newly named coach Terry Weaver.

Dejah Busby scored 12 points and Brandi Wells added 10 for Sherman. Haleigh Cook netted 11 points to lead the Bulldogs

The Boone county rivals will meet again on Jan. 6 for a tussle at Van.
