County girls named all-conference in cheerleading

Six Logan County girls have been named to the All-Cardinal Conference cheerleading squad.

Chapmanville Regional High School’s Alicia Walker was on the First Team, while Faith Ferrell was on the Second Team and Nicole Surgoine was honorable mention.

Kristyn Frye of Logan High School was on the First Team. Madyson Ooten was Second Team and Ashton Sparks was honorable mention all-conference.

Mingo Central was represented by Ryleigh Pyszkowski (First Team), Alexa Fields (Second Team) and Ashley Blackburn (HM).

Haley Brown of Scott High School was also named First Team, while Shelbee Thompson was Second Team and Amelia White was honorable mention.

Also named to the First Team were: Herbert Hoover’s Ellie Kinder; Nitro’s Courtne Virag; Poca’s Lindsey Triplett; Sissonville’s Abby Nelson; Wayne’s Kaylee Watts; and Winfield’s Cartney Schoolcraft.

On the Second Team were: Hoover’s Raechel Stevens; Nitro’s Krista Lude; Poca’s Sydnie Starcher; Sissonville’s Presley Slater; Wayne’s Sarah Stephens; and Winfield’s Hallie Pongsugree.

Voted Honorable Mention All-Conference were: Herbert Hoover’s A’sa Burcham; Nitro’s Mandy Nienke; Poca’s Karissa Keech; Sissonville’s Destiney Brewer; Wayne’s Ashleigh Pierce; and Winfield’s Grace Bias.
