SETH — Sherman Tide nation honored the 40-year reunion of the 1975 team before its game Friday night against Calhoun County.
Twelve members of one of greatest Tide football teams ever attended the 40th anniversary of the 1975 season that saw the Sherman Tide make it all the way to the Class AA championship game.
“This was a great team with a bunch of great guys,” said current Boone County Commissioner Mickey Brown, a coach of the ‘75 team.
Boone County Commission President Eddie Hendricks was also a player on the team.
“It was a great season and I will never forget that year,” Hendricks said. “It was very special to be remembered 40 years later.”
After the celebration, this year’s Tide squad lost a hard fought contest against Calhoun County by a score of 35-6.
