Violet M. Hale Saunders, 84, of Danville died Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at Boone Memorial Hospital following a short battle with pancreatic cancer. She was a homemaker and a member of Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church at Turtle Creek. Survivors include her children, Eva Jewell Hale at home, Judy Eloise (Charlie) Lucas of Madison, Carolyn "Annie" Walls of Danville, Dottie (Gary) Jarrell of Rosedale, Indiana, Freddie (Cathy) Hale of Racine and Bobby R. Hale of Madison; stepchildren, Kenneth (Patty) Hale of Racine, Betty McKinney of Red House and Vernia Belle (Howard) Pritchard of Danville; grandchildren, Susan Ballard Shreve, Michael Ballard, Johnny Walls, Lisa Griswold, Kimberly Schott, Angela Sullivan, Judy Petry, Gary Jarrell, Joey Jarrell, Eric Hale and Todd Hale; stepgrandchildren, Thomas "Bud" Hale, Danny Ray Hale, Teresa Hale, Debbie Lacy, Kenny Hale, Cynthia Chandler, Ralph McKinney, Tony Pritchard, Pamela Hager and Shelda Howard; 20 great-grandchildren, 14 stepgreat-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Erma Hale Flint of Buchanan, Virginia. Service was 11 a.m. Saturday, November 24, at Handley Funeral Home, Danville, with the Rev. Wayne Runyon officiating. Burial followed in Danville Memorial Park at Turtle Creek, Danville.
