The Sherman High School Library is in the process of updating. The library ,unfortunately does not receive much help by way of funding. There are so many budget cuts in the economy, affecting so many programs, and our literacy program is one of them.
The library is planning fundraisers to raise money that will be used for purchasing books and upgrades. The library will also accept donations of gently used books suitable for high school and junior high students. All donations will be greatly appreciated.
In preparing for the upgrade, many books and periodicals on the shelves in the library dated back to the 1970’s and 1980’s. Our students certainly deserve better. More details will follow on fundraising. In the meantim, if you have any books you would like to donate or funds you would like to donate, please contact the high school at 304-837-3301.
Our students are entitled to have an updated library so they can share the love of reading. Reading is such an important part of everyday life. It doesn’t matter what career path you take, whatever you decide to do in life, you must be able to read. Help us instill the love of reading back in the students at Sherman High!
Until next time, Remember, if something good happens on the Big Coal; share it so everyone will know. I look forward to hearing from all of you with your news. You can call me at 304-854-2113 or email me at email@example.com. God Bless You All.
