Two of the three Boone residents implicated in a burglary ring that touched numerous families in Boone and Lincoln Counties are back in jail after violating the terms of their bond.

Jerry W. Messer II, 26, and Heather Morris, 22, were arrested by sheriff’s deputies one week ago at Messer’s home after law enforcement followed up a tip that they were together. The terms of their bond, which was set by the court, stipulated that Morris and Messer were barred from communicating with each other via phone, Internet or any other manner. In addition, they were both informed that they were not to be near each other. Circuit Judge Will Thompson revoked their bond when deputies found Morris hiding in Messer’s bedroom closet.

Late last year, Morris, along with Chelsea Dolan, plead guilty to felony charges in the case. Since both Dolan and Morris were enrolled in college courses, the judge allowed them both to remain free.

Messer had reportedly planned to enter into a plea agreement with the court last month, but the court action was postponed so his attorney could refine the elements of his agreement. Both Messer and Morris are still lodged in the Southwestern Regional Jail until their court dates, which are scheduled for later this month.
