The City of Madison has received a $200,000 grant to be used for improvements in the downtown area of the city, specifically for the upgrading of drainage, lights, signage, streets and sidewalks from upper Main Street to the Masonic building area. The Main Street Streetscape Grant application was written by Carolyn Mullins and Tammy Hill. Tammy was the guest of the Madison Rotary Club on January 24 and spoke about the grant money and what it will mean to the City of Madison. Another grant application will be written and submitted to apply for an additional $200,000 for improvements from where this project ends down to the Josephine Avenue intersection. Rotarian and Madison Mayor Sonny Howell introduced Ms. Hill and also made comments concerning the grant and answered questions about the project from fellow Rotarians.
