Many may recognize the Jaycee name from our award-winning Haunted House in Madison and more recently from our Haunted Trail in Julian. While we pride ourselves in our fright-filled accomplishments, the Madison-Danville Jaycees are much more than a seasonal attraction. We are a local chapter of an international organization committed to service, community involvement, and empowering young adults.

Through year-round events, we empower our members by providing leadership opportunities to grow professionally and personally. Our members range from age 18 to 40; some are students, others are full-time business professionals. We have a wide variety of personalities but what we have in common is our dedication to our community.

In the upcoming months, you can expect a dedicated schedule from the Madison-Danville Jaycees including monthly Bingo Nights, a Spring Fling Sock Hop dance for senior citizens, a Zumbathon fundraiser for our Relay For Life team, and a community Steak Fry.

We are especially fond of our Jaycee Bingo Nights and the chapter extends a sincere thank you to members of the community who attended the January and February events. Gratitude is also extended to our local businesses and organizations who have contributed to these events. Those include Advanced Auto, Black Diamond Arbors, Boone County Commission, Boone-Madison Public Library, Fountain Place Cinema 8, Heiners, Just 4 Kids Consignment and Boutique, Mane Attraction, Stacie’s Sugar Rush, Twice as Nice, United Bank, Video World and Tanning, Wendy’s, and several individuals. March’s St. Patrick’s Day Bingo Night will be on Friday, March 15 at the Lick Creek Nutrition Center. Bingo begins at 7:30p.m.

Expanding our dedication to national programs, the Madison-Danville Jaycees have created a team to raise money and awareness for Relay For Life of Boone County. Our Zumbathon, a team fundraiser, will be on Saturday, April 27 from 11:00a.m. to 1:00p.m. at the Madison Civic Center. Advanced registration is $15, due by April 13, and includes a free t-shirt. For more information or to register, contact Stacie Franson at 304-542-3120.

The Madison-Danville Jaycees welcomes new members and continually encourages the public’s input on community projects. General membership meetings are open to the public and are on the first and third Monday of the month. Meetings begin at 7:00p.m. and are located at our Clubhouse, Room 202 in the Danville Community Center. For more information, you may contact chapter president Sara Price at 304-784-4259, email us at MDJayceesWV@gmail.com, or visit us online at Facebook.com/MadisonDanvilleJaycees or MDJayceesWV.webs.com.
