Jalana Fonala (Stanley) Johnson, 58, of Helendale, Calif., passed away at her home on Sunday, June 23, 2013.
Jalana was born March 17, 1955 in Grayson, Ky., to Jay Joseph Stanley and Beulah (Stanley) Baisden. She grew up in Jeffrey, W.Va. and always prided herself in being a coal miner’s daughter. After graduating from Scott High School she married Robert Leftwich and relocated to the state of Michigan, where they lovingly raised their three daughters.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jay Stanley and two brothers, Ira Dale Stanley and Keith Stanley.
Survivors include her mother, Beulah (Stanley) Baisden; daughters, Tyanne (Rick) Gibson, Robyn (Woodrow) Young and Misty Leftwich-Marston; two sisters, Judy Stanley and Renae Ball; and five grandchildren, Taylor Gibson, David Young, Rachel Young, Ava Rose Young and Preston Marston.
She had a great love for animals and enjoyed being outdoors, taking leisure bike rides and long scenic walks, but most of all enjoyed spending time with her family.
Memorial service will be held Friday, July 5, at 11 a.m. at Shiloh Baptist Church, Clothier, W.Va., with Pastor Audie Murphy Sr. officiating.
