Kenneth Maynard Kinder Sr. born July 7, 1931 in Boone County, passed away on April 28, 2010.
He was a loving father and grandfather. He was a disabled coal miner and member of United Mine Workers of America.
He was a son of the Late Frank Howard Kinder, Sr. and Bertha E. Kerns Kinder. He was one of ten siblings. He was preceded in death by his wife Doris Jean Moore Kinder; brothers, Dewey Kinder and Frank "Junior" Kinder; and a sister, Doris Kinder Hoover.
Kenneth was a Baptist. A gifted musician. He began playing and singing music early in his teens. He was a member of the Pleasant Valley Quartet, and several other groups. A talented artist. His artwork is displayed in public buildings and many homes. He was a true outdoorsman, loved playing ball and golf, an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed his jeeps and 4-wheelers. He loved being in the hills and digging gin-seng and was a collector of Indian Artifacts and spent many hours looking for arrow heads in the Boone county hills. He loved camping with his family. People enjoyed listening to him recount his adventures.
Survivors include daughters and their husbands, Drema Harvey, Kay and Eddie Kincaid, and Yvonne and Mike Cook; a son and his wife, Kenny and Suzanne Kinder; grandchildren, Shawn Harvey, Kim Price, Ericka Kubiak, Scott Kincaid, Chris Cook, Tiffany Parsons, Adam Kinder and Tara Kinder; great grandchildren, Cody Harvey, Caleb Harvey, Gracie Harvey, Emily Price, Brendan Kubiak, Brooke Kubiak, Haleigh Cook, Katelynn Cook, Gunnar Parsons, and Abbey Grace Parsons; sisters and their husbands, Phyllis and Jim Daniels, Geraldine Castle, Sue and Dale Barker, and Carol and Sammy Perdue; brothers and their wives, Jack and Evelyn Kinder and Jerry and Norma Kinder; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Handley Funeral Home in Danville on May 2 with pastor Ray Barker officiating and Timmy Spratt singing. Burial followed at Memory Gardens, Low Gap.

Erna M. Hash
After living 100 years in her temporary home on Earth, Erna M. Hash went to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday April 24 2010 at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley following a long illness.
Born on January 22, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Levi and Laura Harvey of Bald Knob. Mrs. Hash was also preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Hash; daughter, Juanita Hamilton; two sons, James and Pete; three brothers, Kenny, Alford and Marvin; four sisters, Bertha, Pearl, May and Delma; and a great-granddaughter Priscilla Daniels.
Survivors include her daughters, Elaine Bailey and husband, Walter, of Naomi and Hazel Hash of Pine Lodge Nursing Home, Beckley; a sister, Florence Osborne of Cyclone; 15 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Hash was a Christian and a lifelong member of the Twilight Freewill Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed by all those who had the joy of knowing her.
A memorial service will be held April 28, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Handley Funeral Home, Danville, with the Rev. Steve Burns officiating. Burial will follow in Mid Ferrell Cemetery, Twilight. Family will serve as pallbearers.
Friends may call one hour prior Wednesday at the funeral home.
Thomas W. Dolin
Mr. Thomas Wayne “Tommy” Dolin, 54, of Racine, born October 24, 1955, in Huntington, passed away April 23, 2010, at CAMC General Hospital.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Kelly and Ruth Dolin, and a sister, Rita George.
A memorial service was held at on May 1 at First Baptist Church, Racine, with Pastor Pete Scott officiating.

James H. Hunter
James Harley Hunter, 77, of Hernshaw went home to be with the Lord on April 26, 2010, at home after a short illness.
He was preceded in death by his son, Mike Hunter; parents, William and Goldie Foster Hunter; brothers, Elijah, Roscoe and John Buffington and Ray and Russell Hunter; and sister, Sally Hughes.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Phyllis Mitchell Hunter of Hernshaw; daughter, Debbie (Mike) Rosenbaum of Hernshaw; son, Danny (Lisa) Hunter of Hernshaw; brothers, Wallace Hunter of Charleston and Paul Hunter of Seth; sister, Hazel Buffington of Nellis; grandchildren, Tech Sgt. Eric (Hope) Snead in the U.S. Air Force, Chad Snead, and Emily and Katie Hunter; and great-grandsons, Cameron Shenault and Drew Snead.
Funeral was at Leonard Johnson Funeral Home, Marmet. Burial followed in Mitchell Cemetery, Left Hand Fork, Lens Creek.

Jewell H. Miller, 79, of Alkol died April 28, 2010. Service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 1, at Curry Funeral Home, Alum Creek. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Jewel Helen Pauley Miller, 79, of Alkol went to be with the Lord and our Daddy Wednesday April 28, 2010, with her family by her side.
She was born November 29, 1930, in Morrisvale and was a lifelong resident of Lincoln County..
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dorsey Miller of Alkol; parents, Clayton and Myrtle Burns Pauley; brothers, Hank Pauley, Carl Pauley, Gene Pauley and Jimmy Pauley; and sisters, Grace Mitchell, Wanda Holstein and Betty Thompson.
The funeral service was May 1, at Curry Funeral Home and was officiated by Jimmy Lawrence, assisted by Gene Pauley and Gary Roberts. Burial followed at Miller Cemetery in Spurlockville.

Jacqueline Vance
Jacqueline Sue Vance, 35, of Wharton was born December 26, 1974, and died April 30, 2010.
She is survived by her parents, Jackie and Susan Keene Terherst of Wharton; one son, Brody Vance of Wharton; one sister, Jamie Jarrell and Kevin of Wharton; grandmother, Blanch Keene of Danville; mother and father-in-law, Kay and Paul Vance of Wharton; and nephews, Trenton and Devin Jarrell.
A private service for family and close friends will be held with minister James White officiating. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Park, Danville.
